Frequently Asked Questions

With the flat roof, what happens to the rain?

A: There are channels in each louver that capture the water which flows to the gutters, which run to the downspouts that are inside of the posts.

How long can I expect my pergola structure to last?

A: Decades. These structures have not been out in the field long enough to know for sure. But every step has been taken in the design process so it will outlast any other structure available, wood frame.

Posts/beams/louvers are aircraft grade aluminum powder coated with the highest grade material and process available. Hardware is all stainless steel.

What’s the warranty on the structure?

A: Warranty is 10 years full parts replacement on structural integrity. And we offer a service plan through your local installer that includes an unlimited replacement warranty for as long as you maintain the plan.

What about the louver system electronics? What happens if there’s a problem?

A: First time out, we will ship out replacements for the control box and/or drive motor the next day, no questions asked. Even if it’s from an install error or act of God. After that, worst case the replacements costs are relatively reasonable – the control box is $300 and the motor $150.

How about the other electronics?

A: Lighting, fans, remotes heaters are all relatively low cost. We’ll replace no questions asked first year. After that, again, relatively low cost.

Is there a manual option available for the louvers?

A: Yes, we can substitute a manual drive system for the motorized.

What are the size limitations?

A: The maximum louver length is 14’ 7”. The other direction is 20’. With the use of “zones” there’s no limit on size. Only the configuration.

Can these be mounted with an existing structure supporting the weight of the pergola?

A: Yes. Keep in mind there are precise measurements required and more factors to consider in the design process – we highly recommend you work with an experienced sales associate on site.

Do these require a permit?

A: There’s no yes/no answer as codes are enforced on a local level with varied requirements. If a permit IS required, we highly recommend you comply.

What about wind and snow? Will this hold up in my area?

A: Our standard design is rated up to 120mph and 30lb/sqft. Upgrades available.
